How does Delego address PCI Compliance?
Credit card issuers have joined together to form the PCI Security Standards Council. Its mandate is to create standards that promote a higher level of security for credit card processing in order to prevent fraud and protect consumers. Merchants are required to show compliance with PCI-DSS standards on a regular basis.
Delego provides a variety of PCI compliant solutions to securely process and transmit credit cards. Our PA-DSS certified products also help you achieve PCI-DSS compliance. Depending on the Delego solution chosen, merchants can even remove their SAP® systems from the scope of PCI audits.
What is the difference between an OnSite and OffSite (Hosted) solution?
For an OnSite solution, merchants deploy Delego on a server they own, in their data centre, with network connectivity typically limited to the appropriate SAP® system(s) and the merchant’s payment processor(s). The merchant is responsible for keeping the credit card server up and running, annual maintenance, security patches, and general administration of the server. In addition, the merchant will be responsible for all aspects of PCI-DSS compliance.
A hosted solution, often referred to as a Cloud solution or Software as a Service (SaaS), deploys all Delego components in a geographically remote data center. The merchant’s SAP® system is connected to the data center via a secure VPN. Delego Software staff, and/or our strategic partners are responsible for keeping the credit card server up and running, as well as annual maintenance, security patches, and general administration of the server. In addition, the merchant will be responsible for only a subset of the PCI-DSS compliance audit, leveraging the already-PCI-DSS-certified data centre to reduce their audit overhead.
Does Delego Offer a Tokenization solution?
Yes, Delego Secure provides an enterprise grade tokenization solution for protecting critical customer payment card data. Tokens provide all the convenience of an integrated payment solution without having credit card numbers stored in the SAP ECC or CRM systems. Delego Secure encrypts credit card numbers using 256-bit AES encryption and stores the encrypted card number in a database external to SAP ECC or CRM. A token representing the encrypted number is stored as a credit card number in SAP ECC or CRM, and can be used anywhere a credit card can be used. The first character of a token is a letter and the last four digits of the token are the last four digits of the credit card numbers (unencrypted) so that merchants may verify with customers the identity of the card number for future transactions.
What is a token?
A token is simply a string of letters and numbers that replaces a credit card number everywhere it appears in SAP ECC and CRM, other legacy systems, and web stores. In a secure, external database, the tokens are paired with the encrypted form of the credit card numbers. When a transaction is sent to a payment processor, Delego matches the token with the encrypted credit card number, decrypts the encrypted number, and securely transmits the transaction to the payment processor.
The first option for storing this pairing of the encrypted credit numbers and token (“Token Database”) is in a database outside the SAP system, but on the merchant’s network. Delego Secure works with JDBC-compliant relational database management systems, such as Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, and DB2.
Delego Software Inc. , in conjunction with our partners, also offers external storage of the Token Database. With a select number of our processor integrations, including Braintree and CyberSource, remote storage of the Token Database provides secure storage of customer payment card numbers outside your network.
Can Delego provide Level II & Level III, line item transaction details for billing, payment and reconciliations?
When available from the processor, Delego supports Level II and Level III Procurement Card Processing. These special classes of credit cards specifically Purchasing or Procurement (P-cards) and Corporate cards, offer extend card processing capabilities that often reduce merchant processing (interchange) fees. Delego provides extensions to your SAP ECC and CRM systems that allow you to process Level II and Level III data for Procurement cards.
